Meet Brittyn, The Autism Dietitian
Hi, I’m Brittyn! I’m a Registered Dietitian, Autism Nutrition Expert, and the Founder of the Nourishing Autism Collective, a membership community for parents of kids on the autism spectrum looking to improve their child’s nutrition, expand their diet, and help them feel their best & thrive.
28 years ago I became a big sister to Barrett, who was diagnosed with autism at 2. I vividly remember how difficult nutrition was for him due to a severe sensory sensitivity that left him eating only 5 foods.
From there, his nutrition plummeted. He couldn’t get the nutrients he needed from his limited diet & the foods that were in his diet weren’t providing him with the optimal nutrients for kids on the spectrum. On top of that, he was chronically constipated. His nutrient deficiencies and poor nutrition left him clouded, fatigued, frustrated, and uncomfortable.
Once he began opening up his diet (with the help of some amazing therapists), getting in the right nutrients, taking targeted supplements, and getting holistic care, he became a completely new kid - one that was happy, goofy, focused, and comfortable.
I decided to become a Registered Dietitian and support families with kids on the autism spectrum. 8 years and thousands of clients later, I’ve created the Nourishing Autism® Collective so that more families can have access to this important information, access top experts, connect with other parents on the same journey, and to help their kids get the nutrients they need to feel good & live their best life.
